Track Chainsets

Track Chainsets
A Track Cycling Chainset or Track Cycling Crankset is the component of a bicycle drivetrain that converts the reciprocating motion of the rider's legs into rotational motion used to drive the chain, which in turn drives the rear wheel. It consists of a single chainring that is attached to the cranks to which the pedals attach. It is connected to the rider by the pedals, to the bicycle frame by the bottom bracket, and to the rear sprocket or freewheel via the chain.

Chainsets are available in various Cranks Sizes ranging from the most popular size of 165mm through to 180mm. Another important measurement to consider is BCD this refers to the Bolt Circle Diameter of a Track Cycling Chainring/Chainset, in order to ensure a chainring fits your Track Cycling Chainset you need to make sure the BCD match on both items. Our website clearly states the BCD for each Chainset and Chainring.

Finally you need to consider the Chainring Gauge of either 1/8" (3.18 mm) or 3/32" (2.38 mm) the latter of which is now almost obsolete, this measurement needs to be consistent across your Chain, Sprocket and Chainring
